Polypipe Polyfast MDPE Mid Blue Adaptor Set 25mm x ¾" L.D. (Low Density) Class C B.S.1972 - 465C34

Polyfast Compression Fittings Jointing Instructions

1. Cut the pipe end square with the axis using pipe cutters or shears.
2. Select the correct insert for the size, type and pressure of pipe (e.g. "½" LDPE CLASS D") and the correct size of imperial grab ring (e.g. ½"). NOTE: inserts/imperial grab rings are supplied in standard packs.
3. Remove the nut from the fitting and discard the standard metric 'grab-ring'. Ensure that the seal/thrust washer remain in position and check that the factory applied lubricant grease is present on the rubber seal.
4. Place the nut over the pipe end and push the imperial grab-ring over the pipe end (thickest section towards the fitting body).
5. Insert the barbed end of the insert into the pipe bore (if nescessary this can be tapped into position using a wooden mallet). Push the grab-ring towards the end of the pipe until it comes into contact with the flange on the insert.
6. Push the plain spigot of the insert into the socket of the fitting through the thrust washer and rubber seal and engage the nut into the threads on the body of the fitting.
7. Fully tighten the nut by hand and tighten a further ⅛ turn with a strap wrench. NOTE: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
8. Pressure test to 1.5 times the actual working pressure for 1 hour maximum before connecting the installation to the mains supply.
9. Should it be necessary to remove the fitting, unscrew the nut and pull the pipe end/insert from the fitting. If the fitting is then to be reused, a new grab ring and insert must be used and the pipe must be cut back to an unused section.

These must be used with a Polypipe Polyfast Compression Fitting.
